Job Overview
We are currently seeking a full-time Accounts Assistant to join our team. This role will support the finance function by carrying out credit control activities, maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable processes, assisting with ledger-related tasks, and providing day-to-day administrative support across the office.
Duties.
- Monitor overdue balances and manage recovery processes.
- Contact customers to recover outstanding payments in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate customer records
- Reconcile bank statements and investigate discrepancies.
- Liaise with customers and internal departments to resolve invoice queries efficiently.
- Process petty cash, mileage, and fuel claims.
- Work with Xero and provide general finance administration support.
- Provide day-to-day operational and administrative assistance across the business.
- Running payroll, mainly on a monthly cycle
- Handling RTI submissions, auto-enrolment, monthly CIS returns and annual CIS reclaims and VAT preparation.
- Managing year-end procedures including P60s and P11Ds
- Being the first port of call for payroll and bookkeeping queries
Experience
- Proven experience working with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, is highly desirable
- Familiarity with accounts payable processes and general ledger management
- Experience in data entry within a financial services environment is advantageous
- Prior exposure to financial reporting or bookkeeping roles is preferred
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling numerical data
- Knowledge of procedures and current legislation.
