Team Leader – Garden Maintenance

This is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for the maintenance of some of the most innovative, unique and luxury gardens in the country. Our client operates in the super prime sector, designing and building gardens and landscapes with project values from £½m to over £10m and associated with residential properties of eye-watering values!
This is a role that requires the closest attention to detail coupled with a good horticultural knowledge and a sound organisational skills. You will be leading the in-house Maintenance Team and coordinating specialist sub-contractors when necessary.
The Gardening Teams are fully mobile and you will be looking after gardens all across Central and West London and occasionally visit the company offices in Westminster. Your portfolio of gardens have all been designed and built by the company and you will ensure that they look their best as they continue to develop and mature.
The work is a mix of fine grass care, hedging, specialist pruning, maintenance and fine gardening that requires work to the highest standards. You will have a good knowledge of horticulture and gardening practices, probably backed up with a RHS (or equlivant) qualification. On occasions you will often be “the face of the company” with both clients and their representatives and should therefore have a pleasant, friendly manner and good communication skills.
You will ensure that you have the correct uniform and PPE and that the vehicles and machinery that you use are in good order and safe to operate. You will maintain your tools correctly to ensure their serviceability. You will ensure that stock and materials are available for each job/site on a daily basis and submit requests for additional items. You will report progress and the work completed on a daily basis.
The Person:
Ideally you will have at least 5 years of previous experience and a broad range of Landscaping skills.
These attributes are useful but ARE NOT ESSENTIAL and should not stop you applying for the role;
· RHS Level 2 - Horticulture or higher
· PA1 & PA6 certificate.
· CS30 & CS31
· Driving licence
· Trailer licence / experience
