About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Trainer/Assessor to deliver high-quality training and assessment in Domestic Retrofit, Energy Efficiency, Renewable Technologies and Sustainable Energy. The successful candidate will support learners in developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to work within the growing green construction and retrofit sector.
You will deliver classroom sessions, practical demonstrations, workplace assessments and learner support across a range of funded programmes, bootcamps and accredited qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging classroom and practical training sessions.
- Assess learners against awarding body standards and qualification requirements.
- Carry out workplace observations and professional discussions where required.
- Support learners in building portfolios of evidence.
- Provide constructive feedback and monitor learner progress.
- Ensure all assessment decisions are valid, reliable and compliant.
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work and learning resources.
- Maintain accurate learner records using internal systems.
- Ensure compliance with Awarding Organisation, Ofsted, ESFA and funding requirements.
- Promote safe working practices and maintain high standards of Health & Safety.
- Support quality assurance activities including IQA and EQA visits.
- Keep up to date with developments in retrofit standards, legislation and sustainable technologies.

Essential Requirements
- Level 3 or above qualification in Construction, Retrofit, Energy or a related discipline.
- Occupational experience within domestic retrofit, renewable technologies or energy efficiency.
- Teaching qualification (AET, PTLLS, Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent).
- Assessor qualification (CAVA, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent), or willingness to work towards one.
- Excellent communication and learner support skills.
- Strong organisational and IT skills.
- Full UK driving licence (desirable).
Desirable Qualifications
- Level 3 Award in Energy Efficiency for Older and Traditional Buildings.
- Level 3 Retrofit Assessor qualification.
- Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management.
- Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA).
- Retrofit Coordinator experience.
- PAS 2035 knowledge.
- Experience delivering funded programmes, Skills Bootcamps or Adult Skills Fund provision.
- IQA qualification (Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance).
