Introduction:
Do you know your pots from your pans, and your side plates from your saucers? We need someone who takes pride in keeping our kitchenware and areas clean, tidy and ready to serve! This is more than just operating a dishwasher, you will be a key member of the café team, ensuring the place runs smoothly with cups, plates and cutlery in the right places so our customers can be served with a smile and to the standards we take pride in.
The Job:
You will be responsible for organising the clearing up, cleaning and re-stocking dishes throughout the operations of the shift. Collecting dishes out on the tables and tray racks, running the washer, and keeping items where they are needed by the kitchen and café team is a big part of this job. You will ensure kitchen areas, floors and surfaces are cleaned to the relevant standards daily, follow all health and safety guidelines to keep yourself and others safe.
We are looking for a reliable member of the team, that can focus on the job in-hand, as the café does get busy. You will be part of the wider team, so, communicating with colleagues and generally being part of colleagues working together is part of the day job. If you are happy getting your dishes organised, taking pride in getting clean crockery and cookware where it needs to go, and being part of a friendly team in a small but busy rural business, then we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
● follow (and make suggestions on) clearing and cleaning requirements within the kitchen and cafe
● run the dishwashing operations to fulfil the cafe requirements
● keep the kitchen clean and tidy in line with standards set by the manager, and ready for the next shift
● lead by example in delivering presentation and service
● consider how we improve things and provide your ideas to the manager
● Experience in working in a catering environment is advantageous
● An interest and ability to serve customers in a busy, organic cafe
● Ability to prioritise a varied workload effectively in an operational environment
● A competent and considerate team worker that balances the needs of the job and working as part of a fun team
● Understands and is able to work to health and safety requirements
