Garment Technician / Senior Couture Machinist
DSI London is looking for an experienced and highly skilled Garment Technician / Senior Couture Machinist to join our full-time production team at our South London studio.
This is an opportunity to become part of a creative and dedicated couture environment where craftsmanship, teamwork and attention to detail are at the heart of everything we do.
Unlike many manufacturing environments, you will be actively involved throughout the complete garment-making process, working closely with designers, pattern cutters and fellow machinists to produce exceptional Ballroom & Latin costumes, stage costumes and performance wear.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Expert construction of couture garments
- Advanced machining and hand-finishing techniques
- The ability to interpret patterns and identify construction challenges
- Strong problem-solving skills to resolve fit and production issues
- Experience working with delicate, luxury and performance fabrics
- Exceptional attention to detail and consistently high finishing standards
- Pride in producing garments of outstanding quality
You will work as part of a close-knit production team, collaborating directly with designers and pattern cutters to ensure every garment achieves the highest possible standard.
Our work includes Ballroom & Latin couture, stage costumes and performance wear for internationally recognised productions and clients, including projects associated with Moulin Rouge, Hamilton, the Royal Opera House, Hercules, major film productions and international live events.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly skilled and experienced in couture garment construction
- Hardworking, reliable and committed to excellence
- Positive and proactive with a strong team ethic
- Passionate about craftsmanship and continuous improvement
- Proud to contribute towards the continued growth of the DSI London brand
Experience within couture, theatre, stage costume, Ballroom & Latin fashion or performance wear would be highly advantageous.
