Job Introduction
Pinnacle Group are looking for a Commercial Manager to join our Asset Management team within the Homes Division, providing commercial oversight across a portfolio of housing, property management and multi-site FM contracts. The role will lead commercial governance, contract compliance, change control activities, client commercial engagement and supply chain performance, ensuring contractual obligations are met and contract value is protected. Working closely with operational, finance and leadership teams, the successful candidate will drive commercial performance, manage contractual risk and support mobilisation and transformation projects.
Our Homes Division delivers trusted housing management services across Affordable, Private Rented and Leasehold properties. We work with local authorities, registered providers and investors to support thriving communities.
The ideal candidate will be a commercially minded professional who can quickly grasp complex information, build credibility with stakeholders and provide practical solutions to business challenges. They will be confident analysing data, reviewing contractual documentation and challenging processes to improve outcomes, with the ability to identify commercial risks and opportunities and translate them into clear, actionable recommendations. They will be comfortable working across multiple priorities, influencing decision-making at all levels and balancing commercial objectives with operational realities.
This is a hybrid role with travel required to Holborn, London.

Key responsibilities will include:

Lead commercial governance activities across a portfolio of housing, property management and FM contracts.

Provide strategic commercial advice to operational, finance and senior leadership teams.

Review contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service requirements.

Identify, assess and mitigate commercial risks while maximising contractual opportunities and entitlements.

Lead change control processes, ensuring variations are managed effectively and contract value is protected.

Support the preparation, negotiation and agreement of contract variations, amendments and commercial proposals.

Interpret complex contractual documentation and provide clear guidance to operational stakeholders.

Build and maintain strong client relationships, leading commercial discussions and influencing positive outcomes.

Review contract profitability and financial performance, identifying opportunities to improve revenue and margin.

Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities from a contractual and commercial perspective.

Monitor and challenge costs, inefficiencies and unrecovered expenditure to improve commercial performance.

Review and optimise supply chain arrangements to deliver value for money and contractual compliance.

Support procurement, re-procurement and supplier performance management activities as required.

Contribute to contract mobilisation and transformation programmes, ensuring commercial requirements are embedded into delivery plans.

Produce and present commercial reports, risk assessments and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Line manage and develop the Assistant Commercial Manager, providing leadership, coaching and oversight of commercial reporting, governance and risk management activities.
Key Requirements:

Proven commercial management experience within a complex, contract-driven environment.

Strong understanding of contract governance, compliance and commercial risk management.

Experience negotiating commercial matters and building positive relationships with clients and key stakeholders.

Demonstrable experience leading change control, contract variations and commercial improvement initiatives.

Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to analyse performance, challenge costs and identify opportunities for value creation.

Experience interpreting contractual documentation and providing clear, practical commercial guidance to operational teams.

Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) with a strong commercial and contractual background; professional accreditation such as RICS or CIPS would be advantageous.
