As we continue to go from strength to strength, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations across our e-commerce warehouses at both The Ironworks, Oswestry and Telford sites. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving operational excellence, developing high-performing teams, and maintaining our exceptional standards across both locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping goods.
- Ensure accurate inventory control, stock management, and order fulfilment.
- Lead, support, and develop warehouse staff, forklift drivers, team leaders, and shift supervisors.
- Set, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) across both sites, ensuring teams achieve operational targets relating to productivity, accuracy, service levels, and efficiency.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, appraisals, and one-to-one meetings with team members and managers across both locations.
- Assist with HR-related responsibilities, including recruitment, onboarding, training, attendance management, disciplinary processes, employee engagement, and performance improvement plans.
- Maintain a visible presence across both sites, supporting teams and resolving operational challenges throughout the day.
- Monitor equipment usage, warehouse layout, and compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Implement and continuously improve processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, productivity, and safety.
- Analyse and report on key operational metrics including order accuracy, turnaround times, productivity levels, and damage rates.
- Foster strong collaboration and communication between the Telford and Oswestry sites to ensure consistency in standards, processes, and performance.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a management role, preferably within distribution, warehousing, logistics, industrial, or related sectors.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a diverse workforce.
- Experience setting and managing KPIs and conducting performance reviews.
- Good understanding of HR processes and employee relations.
- Excellent knowledge of warehouse operations, health and safety regulations, and quality standards.
- A hands-on approach with the ability to support operational activities when required, including occasional heavy lifting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work across multiple sites and manage competing priorities effectively.

Schedule
- Start Date: Immediate
- Job Type: Permanent, 44.5 hours per week
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:30pm
- Occasional Saturday work required
