Job Summary
Foundations Up Construction is looking for a skilled and reliable Experienced Carpenter to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role for someone confident working independently, running jobs, and leading others on-site.
Our work is primarily residential, with a strong focus on loft storage solutions, boarding and hatches alongside first and second fix carpentry.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing a variety of carpentry tasks on-site, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced carpenters to contribute to diverse building projects. The successful applicant will possess strong technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Carry out high-quality first fix and second fix carpentry independently
- Run and lead carpentry jobs independently on-site
- Install loft storage solutions
- Supervise and support junior carpenters/apprentices
- Ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform joinery tasks including cutting, fitting, and installing woodwork elements such as doors, windows, and cabinetry.
- Assist with roofing installation and repairs as required.
- Handle heavy lifting and manoeuvre materials around the site using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as plasterers, electricians, and plumbers to ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience in carpentry, and some experience joinery, or related construction trades.
- Ability to work independently and manage jobs
- Experience with first and second fix carpentry
- Confident supervising others on-site
- Must have own tools
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.

Pay: £36,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
