We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive specialist school in the Peterborough area. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, providing personalised support that helps them develop confidence, independence, communication skills, and a love for learning.
Every day will be different. You may be helping a child overcome a challenge, encouraging a new skill, supporting emotional regulation, or simply being the trusted person who helps a pupil feel safe and understood.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs
- Providing 1:1 and small group support both inside and outside the classroom
- Helping pupils access learning activities and develop essential life skills
- Building strong, positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and creating a safe, nurturing learning environment
- Working as part of a passionate team dedicated to improving outcomes for every child
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Is patient, caring, and resilient with a positive attitude
- Can build trust and meaningful relationships with pupils
- Is confident supporting children who may display challenging behaviours
- Works well as part of a team but can also use their own initiative
- Is eager to learn and develop within a specialist education environment
Experience working in a SEN, education, care, or support setting would be highly desirable, but the most important thing is your attitude, commitment, and willingness to make a difference.
