We are looking for achef to join our small team with a keen interest in sushi and pan Asian cuisine l with approx 35-40 hours per week .
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow and expand their knowledge of Asian food and be trained by our chefs. The ideal candidate needs to be passionate and committed.
Duties:
- Assist in food preparation and cooking mainly on the hot section
- Use of fryer and teppanyaki grill
- Follow recipes and ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Assist in supervising kitchen staff and delegating tasks as needed
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Skills:
- Hospitality: Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for guests
- Food Preparation: Assist in preparing ingredients, measuring portions, and following recipes accurately
- Restaurant Experience: Familiarity with restaurant operations and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Kitchen Knowledge: Basic understanding of kitchen equipment, utensils, and cooking techniques
- Supervising: Ability to assist in supervising kitchen staff and delegating tasks effectively
- Food Safety: Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Culinary Skills: Basic culinary skills such as knife handling, cooking techniques, and plating presentation
- Leadership: Ability to take initiative, work independently, and make decisions when necessary
