SSF Metal Products Ltd are recruiting for a FABRICATION PRODUCTION MANAGER to ensure the smooth running of the fabrication facility within the parameters of cost, quality and timescale.
We are a manufacturer of structural and architectural steel fabrications based near West Bromwich in the West Midlands producing and fitting all manner of fabrications from structural steel frames, staircases and canopies through to automated gates and railings for a customer base both within the greater West Midlands and further afield.
Salary will be discussed at interview; We anticipate something in the regions of £40,000-45,000 depending entirely on skills and experience. Core working hours are 7am to 4pm, Mon to Fri + Overtime
As FABRICATION PRODUCTION MANAGER your duties & responsibilities will include:
- Production planning and scheduling
- Material and resource planning
- Managing a team of 6 Fabricators
- Promoting a “right first time” culture
- Ensure quality & accuracy of fabrication work across the work shop
- Working from engineering and architectural drawings
- Produce fabrication packs and work instructions from CAD drawings
- Dealing directly with customers and suppliers to resolve queries
- Occasional hands-on fabrication may be required if within your skill set
The successful FABRICATION PRODUCTION MANAGER will possess the following key skills and experience:
- Previous experience within structural or architectural steelwork
- Management or supervision of a small team
- Production and material planning to achieve deadlines
- Working accurately to technical drawings
- Computer and cad literate
- Interpret and extract production instructions from cad models
- Fabricating structural sections, frames, staircases and hand rails
- Familiar with ISO / CE standards
- CSCS or site welding experience is a distinct advantage
- Hands on welding & fabrication skills (ideal but not essential)
