To strategically lead, develop and implement a high quality clinical pharmacy service as part of the multidisciplinary teams in the Medicine division
To lead on developing a strategic vision and roadmap for pharmacy services within the division, taking into account the diverse skills of the wider pharmacy team
To work with the multidisciplinary team to promote safe, effective use of drugs in the specialist clinical area, evaluating available information and providing guidance to the relevant directorate/division on new drugs
To provide an advanced clinical service to patients as part of the team. This may include patient facing work in areas such as: Emergency and Acute Medicine, Medical Specialities, Care of Older People and Frailty
To lead and manage the pharmacy clinical team working in the Medicine division and ensure service delivery to agreed standards in line with business planning requirements.
To ensure the development and delivery of training in the specialist clinical area for pharmacy staff and other staff groups as required.
To support audit and research within teams and promote the use of Quality Improvement (QI) methodology at all opportunities
Ø Work within agreed Trust and departmental policies and procedures and to accepted standards of practice.
Ø Work in other areas and on other sites in the Trust to cover for service needs.
Ø Undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time, as are consistent with the responsibilities of the grade.
Ø Ensure confidentiality at all times, only releasing confidential information obtained during the course of employment to those acting in an official capacity.
Ø Comply with the Code of Ethics of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.
Ø Treat patients and customers with dignity and courtesy.
Ø Ensure that medicines do not fall into unauthorised hands.
Ø Have responsibility for the health, safety and welfare for self and others and to comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety regulations, including COSHH.
