Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable HGV Driver/Labourer to join our dynamic team. This role combines professional commercial driving with hands-on labour tasks, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods while supporting site operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and the ability to adapt to various tasks on-site. Duties
- Safely operate flatbed trucks and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods to various locations
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, ensuring secure transportation
- Assist with site labour tasks such as preparing delivery areas, securing loads, and maintaining cleanliness
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations during transit and on-site activities
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate deliveries and ensure timely completion of routes
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs for compliance purposes
Requirements
- Valid commercial driving license (CDL) or equivalent for operating heavy goods vehicles
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed or similar vehicles
- Knowledge of safe loading practices for flatbed cargo and securement techniques
- Ability to perform physical labour including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Strong understanding of driving regulations and safety standards in commercial transportation
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Flexibility to work varied shifts and adapt to changing schedules
