Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Joiner specialising in Roughing and Finishing to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and finishing timber and other materials to high standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced carpenters and joiners to contribute to diverse projects, including roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, and construction painting. The position requires a commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble timber components using hand tools and power tools in accordance with project specifications.
- Execute roughing and finishing tasks on various structures, ensuring precision and quality.
- Operate a range of tools including saws, drills, chisels, and other carpentry equipment safely and effectively.
- Assist with roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical installations, and construction painting as required.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials up to specified weights to facilitate construction activities.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines whilst maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
- Read technical drawings and blueprints to accurately execute joinery tasks.
Skills
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, and joinery within the construction or carpentry sectors.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as chisels, saws, hammers, and screwdrivers.
- Competence in operating power tools safely for cutting, drilling, and finishing tasks.
- Knowledge of roofing techniques, masonry work, plumbing systems, electrical installations, and construction painting is desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during various stages of construction projects.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to construction sites.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to read technical drawings accurately.
- Physical fitness to handle prolonged periods of standing and walking around large sites or structures.
