Salary: Grade 8 Pay Points NJC15 - NJC18 (£28,605 - £31,029)
Approx Starting Salary of £28,605, - Pending pay award
Hours: Full-time; 37 hours per week and 52 weeks per year
Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00

Responsible to: IT Service Manager
Location: Trust Central Office; other Trust locations may be possible if approved in advance. Travel to other Trust locations is required most days.

Job Purpose:
The main purpose of the role is to deliver resolutions to problems and resolve or further escalate tickets from the Service Desk, ensuring proactive steps are taken to avoid disruption in the first place wherever possible.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Field Technician to join our IT team, providing technical support across our Trust schools. The role involves monitoring systems, responding to and resolving IT support requests, supporting cloud-based services, networks and end-user devices, and assisting with IT projects during busy periods. As an experienced member of the team, you will also help develop junior colleagues, contribute to knowledge base documentation, and work closely with staff to ensure technology supports effective teaching and learning.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proactive checking of systems and alerts
- Triage, resolution and escalation of tickets assigned by IT colleagues
- As the senior technician, supporting the development of Service Desk Technicians with a view that they may develop into the Field Technician role
- Creation of / updates to knowledge base articles
- Reporting of ‘problems’ and ‘incidents’ as found working on tickets
- Assisting colleagues at Trust Schools during periods of busy project work; usually during school holidays
- Attend central team meetings, as required.
- Provide support to external service users as appropriate
- Develop knowledge and expertise in PedTech and how it can be used to raise outcomes for children
Experience:
- Supporting people in any context; personally or professionally
- Experience in a similar role inside or outside of education is desirable
- Technical IT experience at least at first line level, ideally second line, ongoing training will be provided
Skills and Knowledge:
