Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented MOT Tester and Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting MOT tests, performing vehicle maintenance and repairs, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to thrive in a busy workshop environment.
Duties
- Carry out thorough MOT inspections to ensure vehicles meet legal safety standards
- Perform vehicle servicing, repairs, etc including oil changes, brake checks, and fluid top-ups
- Use hand tools and power tools to replace parts such as timing belts, clutches, and cylinder heads
- Conduct repairs on various vehicle systems with precision and efficiency
- Assist with tyre fitting, wheel balancing, and alignment tasks
- Lift heavy components safely using appropriate techniques and equipment
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed and communicate findings clearly to customers
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment confidently
- Experience performing MOT tests in accordance with legal standards (or willingness to train)
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and manual tasks required in automotive work
- Full driving license is essential for operational mobility around the workshop and customer vehicles
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality standards
