To safely and efficiently operate company vehicles to deliver goods and materials to customers and designated locations, while ensuring compliance with all road transport regulations, company policies, and health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive company trucks safely and responsibly in accordance with UK road traffic laws and company procedures.
- Complete scheduled deliveries and collections on time while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks, including safety inspections and reporting any defects or maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure all loads are secured correctly and comply with weight, safety, and legal requirements.
- Complete delivery paperwork, including delivery notes, vehicle check sheets, and timesheets accurately.
- Follow route plans and use navigation systems effectively to optimise delivery schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned vehicle.
- Comply with drivers’ hours regulations, working time rules, and tachograph requirements.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods where required.
- Report any accidents, incidents, delays, or damage immediately to the Transport Manager.
- Follow company health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
Skills and Experience
- Valid UK driving licence with the appropriate category entitlement (e.g. Category C / C+E as required).
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Good knowledge of UK road networks and transport regulations.
- Previous experience as a truck driver or HGV driver preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules effectively.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious approach to work.
Pay: £43,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
