To receive, check, sort, and prepare fresh flower and plant orders overnight, ensuring high-quality stock is ready for early morning dispatch and trade customers.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Intake & Quality Control
- Unload fresh flower deliveries from transit trucks.
- Inspect incoming plants and flowers for damage.
- Log missing, damaged, or poor-quality items into the inventory system.
Order Picking & Packing
- Read electronic pick sheets to accurately gather specific flower varieties.
- Pack delicate stems securely into buckets, boxes, or transport trolleys.
- Label completed customer orders clearly with delivery route details.
Flower Conditioning & Maintenance
- Hydrate flowers by placing them in clean water with proper nutrients.
- Move temperature-sensitive varieties into correct cold-storage zones.
Warehouse Housekeeping
- Clean and refill plastic flower buckets to prevent bacteria.
- Sweep floors, clear packing debris, and empty waste bins constantly.
- Keep cold rooms, walkways, and loading bays organised and safe.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Capability to lift heavy water buckets and walk for long hours.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot subtle color, grade, and variety differences.
- Speed & Accuracy: Capacity to work efficiently under tight morning deadlines.
- Product Knowledge: Prior experience handling fresh flowers is highly advantageous but not essential.
- Environment Tolerance: Comfort working in cold, refrigerated warehouse conditions.
Typical Working Hours
- Shift Pattern: 10:00 pm start times, finishing at 6:00 am.
Pay: £16.09 per hour
