Experienced Housekeeper / Household Assistant in Soulbury, Leighton Buzzard

InsideOut Home Services is looking for an experienced, reliable and highly organised Housekeeper / Household Assistant to support a busy professional in her home in the Leighton Buzzard area.
This is much more than a cleaning role. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys making a home run smoothly and who can use their own initiative, see what needs doing and get on with it.
The role could include:
- General housekeeping and maintaining the home
- Laundry, ironing and changing beds
- Organising cupboards, wardrobes, the larder and household storage
- Decluttering and sorting items for keeping, donating or disposing of
- Simple meal preparation and batch cooking
- Running local errands, including Post Office visits, returns and charity-shop drop-offs
- Helping organise household jobs and appointments
- Occasionally photographing or preparing unwanted items for sale
- General household organisation and practical support
There will be basic cleaning involved, but this role is primarily about providing reliable, practical household support and helping a busy home run more efficiently as the client already has a weekly cleaner.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous housekeeping, home management or similar experience
- Is naturally organised with excellent attention to detail
- Is confident working independently
- Can follow instructions but, importantly, use their own initiative
- Is trustworthy, discreet and dependable
- Is comfortable preparing simple home-cooked meals
- Has their own car and a full driving licence
- Is happy to undertake occasional local errands
- Is looking for a regular, long-term position
Above all, we're looking for someone who can walk into a home, understand the priorities and think:
"What can I do today that will make life easier?"
Hours & Pay: from £18 per hour
We are initially looking for approximately one day per week or several shorter sessions, with the potential for additional hours once the right person is established in the role.
There is flexibility around days and hours, so this could work particularly well for an experienced housekeeper who already has private clients and is looking for an additional regular position.
Any agreed mileage incurred while running errands for the client will be reimbursed separately.
This is a self-employed position through InsideOut Home Services.
DBS checking, references and appropriate insurance will be required.
