Creative Gardens & Driveways are looking for an experienced Landscape Estimator to join our dynamic and friendly team based in Cheshire.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced landscaping professional who enjoys the commercial side of the industry and wants to play a key role within one of Cheshire's leading design and build landscaping companies.
For more than 25 years, we've been designing and building some of Cheshire's finest private gardens, with projects ranging from £30,000 to over £400,000. Our reputation has been built on exceptional craftsmanship, outstanding customer service and award-winning gardens.
We're looking for someone with a solid understanding of landscaping construction who can accurately price high-end domestic landscaping projects while working closely with our designers, operations team and suppliers. You'll also advise on buildability, installation methods and cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
Role Overview
- Location: Primarily home-based with regular site visits across Cheshire.
- Schedule: Full time.
- Type: Permanent, year-round role.
- Workspace: Must have a dedicated home office suitable for full-time working.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate quotations for high-end domestic landscaping projects.
- Produce detailed material take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Calculate labour requirements and realistic installation times.
- Prepare Bills of Materials and cost schedules.
- Obtain and compare supplier quotations.
- Advise the design team on buildability, construction methods and cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.
- Visit sites to assess existing conditions and identify potential construction challenges.
- Work closely with our Garden Designers, Senior Landscape Designer & Consultant and Operations Director to ensure projects are practical, commercially viable and accurately priced.
- Assist with procurement and supplier negotiations where required.
- Maintain and continually improve estimating systems, templates and pricing databases.
- Ensure quotations are produced accurately and within agreed timescales.
Key Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years' experience within the landscaping industry.
- Previous experience preparing quotations and estimates for domestic landscaping projects.
- Excellent knowledge of hard landscaping construction methods, products and installation techniques.
- Good horticultural knowledge preferred.
- Excellent numerical ability with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
- Ability to interpret landscape drawings and construction details.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify risks and opportunities.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently from a dedicated home office.
- Full UK driving licence.
