Elderthorpe is a small, family-run residential care home dedicated to providing a warm, safe, and homely environment for our residents. We pride ourselves on delivering high standards of care, dignity, and respect, and we are looking for a reliable and caring cleaner to join our friendly team.
Role Overview
As a Cleaner at Elderthorpe, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, hygienic, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. Your work will directly contribute to the wellbeing and quality of life of those in our care.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning residents’ bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal areas to a high standard
- Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and polishing surfaces
- Ensuring all cleaning schedules are followed and completed daily
- Maintaining cleanliness in dining areas, lounges, and corridors
- Safe use and storage of cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Reporting any maintenance or health & safety concerns to management
- Supporting infection control measures at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Previous cleaning experience (preferred but not essential)
- A good eye for detail and high standards of cleanliness
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- A caring and respectful attitude towards elderly residents
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of hygiene and safety standards (training can be provided)
