Rightmann Services Ltd is recruiting permanent Multi-Skilled Environmental Operatives to work within Perth & Kinross Council's Environment Service.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for secure, long-term employment, varied outdoor work and the opportunity to gain an additional professional driving qualification funded as part of the role.
Unlike our usual seasonal recruitment, these positions are being offered on a permanent basis and successful candidates will be trained to work across a range of Environment Service duties.
The Role
This is a varied, multi-skilled position combining Grounds Maintenance and Refuse Collection duties.
Depending on operational requirements, your work may include:
- Grass cutting and general grounds maintenance
- Maintaining public spaces and landscaped areas
- Working as part of a refuse collection crew
- Loading and handling household and commercial waste containers
- Assisting with other environmental and seasonal duties
- Working safely as part of an established operational team
The role averages 36 hours per week.
Grounds Maintenance operations include one day of weekend working, and candidates must therefore be willing to work flexibly, including weekends, when required.
Pay
Grounds Maintenance duties: £13.66 per hour
Refuse Collection duties: £14.39 per hour
Following successful completion of C1+E training: £14.39 per hour
Depending upon your home location and place of work, you may also be eligible for assistance with travel costs.
Funded C1+E Driver Training
You do not need to hold a C1+E licence when you apply.
Successful candidates must hold a full, unrestricted Category B car driving licence and be willing to undertake Category C1+E driver training as part of their employment.
The training and development programme will normally take place over approximately 12 months, providing you with an additional vocational driving qualification and the opportunity to undertake a wider range of duties within the Environment Service.

A full, unrestricted Category B driving licence is essential.
