Snowdon Mountain Railway is seeking a Railway Maintenance Operative (Track) / Diesel Driver for a full-time, permanent role.
The railway operates from mid-March to the end of October, with the role also covering maintenance and other responsibilities during the closed season.
Following suitable training, you will be required to drive the railway’s diesel locomotives for engineering and passenger trains.
Operating Season
From March to November, the main duties will be as a Trackman, working on and maintaining the track and associated infrastructure between Llanberis and the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).
Working hours average 48 hours per week on a four-on, four-off shift pattern, including weekends.
Closed Season
From November to March, you will work as part of the maintenance team, carrying out repairs to the track and associated infrastructure, or in another sub-department as required.
Working hours average 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

- The role involves working outside in all weathers, suitable PPE will be provided.
- Experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
