Eliali MPC Ltd is a growing provider of Children's Residential Care and Supported Accommodation in Watford.
We currently operate two Children's Homes, including an established home rated Good by Ofsted, alongside our second Children's Home which is now operational.
Our Supported Accommodation service has also achieved Ofsted's highest judgement of Strong, reflecting the quality of support, leadership and outcomes across the organisation.
We are now looking for an experienced and ambitious Registered Manager to lead our second Children's Home and play a key role in its continued development.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for a newly operational Children's Home and help shape its culture, team and future direction.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Lead and develop your own staff team.
- Embed high standards of care from the outset.
- Shape the culture and day-to-day practice of the home.
- Build strong relationships with professionals and placing authorities.
- Support the home to grow through safe and appropriate placement matching.
- Lead the service towards a strong first Ofsted inspection and beyond.
You will be supported by an experienced Responsible Individual and wider senior leadership team, while being given the autonomy expected of a Registered Manager.
About the Home
The home supports young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
Our approach is trauma-informed, relationship-based and PACE-informed, with an emphasis on understanding the reasons behind behaviour rather than simply responding to it.
We aim to create a warm, safe and predictable environment where young people feel understood, supported and able to make meaningful progress.
Your Role
As Registered Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for the effective leadership and operation of the home.
You will be expected to be a visible, confident and child-focused leader who maintains high standards while developing a positive and accountable staff culture.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leadership & Management
- Provide strong day-to-day leadership of the home.
- Lead, motivate and develop the staff team.
- Ensure staff receive effective induction, supervision, appraisal and professional development.
- Support and develop Deputy Managers and Senior Support Workers.
- Address performance, conduct and poor practice appropriately.
- Promote a positive, reflective and accountable staff culture.
Quality of Care
- Ensure young people receive high-quality, individualised care.
- Maintain oversight of care plans, placement plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
- Ensure young people's wishes, feelings and views are reflected in their care.
- Promote positive outcomes across education, health, independence, relationships and emotional wellbeing.
- Ensure records and reports are accurate, meaningful and completed to a high standard.
Safeguarding
- Maintain a strong safeguarding culture throughout the home.
- Provide clear management oversight following incidents and safeguarding concerns.
- Ensure staff understand professional boundaries and safeguarding responsibilities.
- Work effectively with social workers, LADO, police and other professionals where required.
- Ensure notifications, referrals and safeguarding actions are completed appropriately.
- Review incidents and identify learning, patterns and preventative strategies.
Regulation & Ofsted
- Ensure the home operates in accordance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Ensure practice reflects the home's Statement of Purpose and organisational policies.
- Maintain effective quality assurance systems.
- Ensure the home remains inspection-ready.
- Respond effectively to Regulation 44 findings, Regulation 45 reviews and internal audits.
- Drive continuous improvement with the ambition of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.
Placements & Development of the Home
- Review referrals and lead placement matching decisions.
- Complete robust impact and compatibility assessments.
- Ensure placements are appropriately matched to young people already living in the home.
- Build positive relationships with local authorities and commissioning teams.
- Support appropriate and sustainable occupancy.
- Contribute to the continued growth and reputation of the service.
We want the home to grow, but safe matching, safeguarding and placement stability will always come first.
