About the Role
The Cleaning Fairy & Co is looking for a reliable, hardworking and detail-focused Seasonal Cleaning Operative to join our team for the remainder of the 2026 summer season.
This is a hands-on cleaning role, predominantly supporting our residential and holiday-let properties in and around the Ilfracombe area.
This role is predominantly weekend-based, and availability to work Monday, Friday, Saturday AND Sunday is essential. Applicants must be able to commit to these four days.
Although these four days are essential, working hours may be offered across all seven days of the week depending on business requirements and availability. Flexibility across the full week would therefore be highly advantageous.
Key Requirements
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous cleaning experience, ideally within holiday lets, residential cleaning or hospitality
- Takes pride in their work and has excellent attention to detail
- Is reliable, punctual and organised
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Has a professional and friendly approach
- Is comfortable working in a fast-paced seasonal environment
- Holds a full UK driving licence
- Has their own reliable vehicle
- Must be available to work Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
- Has flexibility to work additional hours across the seven-day working week, subject to business requirements
- Is able to travel between properties as required
Cleaning Operative Responsibilities
Your role will include carrying out high-quality cleaning services across our properties, ensuring they are presented to a high standard for our clients and guests.
Duties may include:
- Holiday-let changeover cleaning
- Residential cleaning
- Cleaning kitchens and bathrooms
- Vacuuming, mopping and dusting
- Cleaning bedrooms and living areas
- Detailed cleaning and finishing touches
- Changing beds and preparing properties for guests
- Following property-specific cleaning instructions and priority lists
- Reporting any maintenance, damage or cleaning concerns to the office
- Ensuring properties are clean, fresh and guest-ready before completion
Opportunity Beyond the Season
There may be potential for employment to continue after the seasonal contract, depending on business requirements and your availability and ability to travel to our other working areas across North Devon.
