Temporary Ad-Hoc Furniture Delivery & Assembly Driver
We are looking for a reliable and friendly Temporary Furniture Delivery & Assembly Driver to join our team on an ad-hoc basis.
This is a zero-hours contract role and is ideal for someone looking for occasional driving work rather than regular weekly hours. You’ll help cover sickness absence, holiday periods, and busy times throughout the year, so flexibility and availability are important.
We are a small, supportive team that takes pride in delivering excellent service while maintaining a positive and enjoyable working environment. If you enjoy practical work, being on the road, and working with a good team, this could be a great fit for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver furniture safely from our warehouse to customers’ homes and businesses
- Load and unload furniture with care
- Assemble furniture on-site when required (full training provided)
- Ensure all items arrive in excellent condition
- Provide friendly, professional customer service at every delivery
- Work closely with the team to keep deliveries running smoothly and on schedule
- Keep the delivery vehicle clean, tidy, and well maintained
- Follow all health and safety procedures
What We’re Looking For
- A valid UK driving licence
- Aged 25 or over for vehicle insurance purposes
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and carrying furniture
- Practical and comfortable using basic tools
- Reliable, punctual, and organised
- Friendly, professional, and customer-focused
- Previous delivery or furniture assembly experience is helpful but not essential
Important Information
- This role involves regular lifting and moving of heavy furniture
- Early starts may sometimes be required depending on delivery schedules
- Punctuality and reliability are essential to ensure deliveries are completed on time
- You will be entering customers’ homes, so a professional and respectful approach is important
