Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Private Client/Conveyancing Solicitor to join our legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in various legal matters. Duties
- Providing clear and accurate legal advice to clients on a variety of issues
- Drafting, reviewing, and amending legal documents such as contracts, wills, dispositions, C1, IHT400 and Executry paperwork.
- Representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and other matters.
- Conducting legal research to support case preparation and strategy
- Managing case files efficiently and maintaining meticulous records
- Liaising with clients, colleagues, and external organisations to facilitate smooth communication
- Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and organisational policies
- Adhering to strict deadlines and ensuring matters are concluded in timely manner and feed accordingly.
Experience
- Qualified Solicitor with valid practising certificate recognised in Scotland
- Proven experience in negotiation and client representation across various legal disciplines
- Strong understanding of Scots and UK law, Tax Law, regulations, and procedural rules
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Demonstrable ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Effective communicator with competent written and verbal skills
- Prior experience in Conveyancing, Executry Management, Contract Negotiation and Family Law would be advantageous.
- Court experience would be advantageous but not essential.
- Competence with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office Programs
- Experience with LawWare Care Management Software preferred but not essential
