Duties
- Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs or kitchen managers
- Ensure the timely washing, drying, and storage of dishes, cookware, and kitchen tools
- Support the organization of stock and supplies to maintain an efficient workspace
- Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health regulations
- Maintain cleanliness in all designated areas including prep stations, storage rooms, and dishwashing zones
- Support serving staff during busy service periods by ensuring clean dishes and assisting with light duties
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key
- Basic understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive approach to supporting colleagues
- Knowledge of kitchen operations such as food preparation, cooking assistance, or serving is advantageous
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
