Job Overview
LOGISTRYX SOLUTIONS LTD is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of our road freight transport business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transport operations, ensuring legal compliance, leading drivers, and maintaining efficient and cost-effective delivery services while meeting customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily transport operation and fleet activities.
- Plan transport schedules and allocate vehicles and drivers efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with UK transport legislation, including Driver Hours, Tachograph Regulations, Operator Licence requirements, and vehicle safety standards.
- Manage driver performance, conduct inductions, and provide training where required.
- Monitor fleet maintenance and ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant.
- Investigate and resolve transport issues, delays, incidents, and customer complaints.
- Monitor transport costs and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain accurate transport records and prepare operational reports for senior management.
- Promote and enforce health and safety policies across all transport activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Transport Manager or in a senior transport management role within the road freight industry.
- Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation and compliance requirements.
- Valid Transport Manager CPC (Road Haulage) is preferred.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills.
- Experience managing drivers, fleet operations, and transport planning.
- Good IT skills and experience using transport management systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple operational priorities.
