Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Wall and Floor Tiler to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing tiles on walls and floors in a variety of residential and commercial projects. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a good understanding of construction practices. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and applying suitable adhesives or underlays.
- Measure and cut tiles accurately using hand tools, power tools, and schematics.
- Lay tiles on walls and floors according to project plans and specifications.
- Use carpentry skills to create custom cuts or adjustments as needed.
- Follow schematics and technical drawings to ensure precise placement of tiles.
- Apply grout, sealants, or finishing compounds to achieve a professional finish.
- Maintain a clean work area and ensure all tools are properly stored after use.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters or painters to complete projects efficiently.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during work activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in tiling, construction, or related trades is essential.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as trowels, cutters, and levels.
- Experience with power tools used in tiling tasks is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans.
- Skills in carpentry or construction painting are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to interpret project specifications accurately and execute tasks accordingly.
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure quality workmanship.
- Physical fitness to handle lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- A valid UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.
