Waste Removal Operative / Driver
Hours: Up to 12 hours per week, over 1–2 days (roughly 8am–5pm)Pay: £16 per hour
About the Role
Skip on Wheels is looking for a reliable, hard-working and motivated Waste Removal Operative / Driver who is keen to join the team and take pride in their work.
You’ll work alongside the business owner initially for full training, learning how jobs are completed and how the business operates. Once trained, you’ll have the opportunity to complete waste removal jobs independently.
The role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, driving a small van and towing a 10ft single-axle trailer.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and remove household and commercial waste
- Safely load and unload items
- Drive the company van and tow/manoeuvre the trailer
- Transport waste to authorised recycling and disposal sites
- Follow company procedures and waste regulations
- Take before and after photos and keep job records
- Keep the van, trailer and equipment clean and looked after
- Provide polite and professional customer service
- Report any issues, damage or incidents
Requirements
- Full UK clean driving licence
- Confident driving a van; trailer experience preferred
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy items
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
- Positive attitude and good with customers
- Able to work independently once trained
- Comfortable using a smartphone for photos, navigation and communication
Training & Progression
Full training will be provided by the business owner, including loading, tipping, customer service, job procedures and company systems.
Performance and reliability will be reviewed during the initial training/probation period, with the opportunity to take on more responsibility as the business grows.
