Pay: £16.73 – £17.05 per hour (depending on experience)
We are seeking Skilled Ramp Agents to join our team at a busy airport terminal. This role is ideal for experienced individuals who are confident operating airside equipment and who thrive in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment.
As a Skilled Ramp Agent, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient processing, transportation, and loading of baggage and designated freight onto a variety of aircraft types. You will play a key role in supporting on‑time performance while ensuring that all safety, security, and operational procedures are followed at all times.
Shift Pattern & Availability
- Primary requirement: Day Shift and Night shifts
- Full-time hours
- Operations run 24/7, 365 days a year
Due to the nature of airport operations, you must be available to work across all shift patterns if required, including:
- Days and nights
- Weekends
- Bank holidays and religious festivals
This ensures transparency, as operational requirements may change over time.
Skills & Experience
- MUST HAVE Proven previous experience as a Skilled Ramp Agent
- Demonstrated competence in operating H/L, H/S, and/or Pushback equipment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to perform safely under pressure in a time‑critical environment
- Physically fit and capable of handling a safety‑critical role
Given the nature of this role, you must be available to cover the all shift times 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including Bank Holidays and religious festivals, day shifts and night shifts possible.
Duties
- Responsible for the loading and unloading of aircraft and associated below wing activities on behalf of the Ramp Team Leader.
- Pro-activate engagement with the Team leader and crew to ensure the critical path of the turnaround is achieved.
- To liaise with the Gate Coordinator and the Team Leader about any perceived issues
- Deliver highest level of service to our customer including OTP and baggage delivery.
- Deliver consistently high department standards through robust routines and processes, delivering operational excellence and be responsible for the safety of yourself your colleagues and our customers.
- Collaborate with team members to meet operational deadlines efficiently.
- Conduct analysis of baggage flow patterns to optimise handling processes and minimise delays.
- Brand ambassadors of the airline and the handling company when working on the front line.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid Full UK Manual Driving Licence
- Must be able to obtain and retain a full airside pass including a satisfactory criminal record check
- Must be able to lift baggage and cargo weighing up to 32kg
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong analysis skills to identify potential bottlenecks or issues in ramp processing workflows.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
- Prior experience in logistics or ramp handling is advantageous but not essential.
