About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Education Consultant to take ownership of a portfolio of students from first enquiry through to enrolment, and to grow our institutional and referral partnerships. This is a client-facing role that combines advisory work, business development and careful administration. You will also act as a point of guidance for more junior colleagues.
Key responsibilities
- Advise prospective students and their families on course, institution and country options, entry requirements, costs and timelines.
- Manage the full application cycle: document collection, personal statement guidance, submissions, offer management, deposits, and pre-departure support.
- Build, maintain and expand partnerships with universities, colleges, schools, sub-agents and referral partners, including negotiating and renewing agreements.
- Represent Parthenon at education fairs, school visits, webinars, partner meetings and networking events, in the UK and overseas.
- Maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date client files and records on our CRM, in line with data protection requirements.
- Prepare written materials: partner proposals, client guidance notes, application summaries, market reports and internal updates.
- Work to agreed enquiry, conversion and enrolment targets, and report on pipeline and performance.
- Keep current with admissions criteria, English language requirements, scholarship options and student visa rules for key destination countries.
- Support, mentor and quality-check the work of junior consultants and counsellors.
- Work collaboratively with admissions, marketing and compliance colleagues to improve the client experience.
Essential criteria
- Master’s degree, or a bachelor’s degree with substantial equivalent professional experience.
- At least two years’ experience in education consultancy, international student recruitment, admissions or a closely related field.
- Excellent written communication: able to draft clear, accurate and professional documents, emails and reports.
- Excellent oral communication and presentation skills, with confidence in front of both individual families and large audiences.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with a demonstrable record of developing and expanding partnerships.
- Meticulous record and file keeping, with experience of maintaining client files on a CRM or equivalent system.
- A genuine team player who can also manage a caseload independently and to deadline.
- Sound judgement and integrity when handling sensitive personal and financial information.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable criteria
- Fluency in Hindi, Urdu or Bengali. A significant proportion of our clients are based in South Asia, and the ability to advise clients in their first language is a practical advantage in this role.
- Working knowledge of UK admissions and the Student visa route, and of admissions systems in other destination countries (Australia, Canada, USA, EU).
- Familiarity with the UK Agent Quality Framework or British Council agent training.
- Willingness to travel overseas for recruitment activity.
- Experience of mentoring or supervising colleagues.
- Experience of digital outreach, webinars or social media–led recruitment.
