Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to contribute to a high-standard culinary setting. Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided. Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision to support kitchen operations
- Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently and thoroughly
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment to meet health and safety standards
- Support the organisation of storage areas by properly storing ingredients and supplies
- Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with environmental policies
- Ensure that all cleaning duties are completed promptly to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with general kitchen duties as required to support chefs and other kitchen staff
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or culinary environment is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive attitude towards cleanliness and safety
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary
