Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract – Maternity Leave Cover, with a view to extending

New Venture Care is looking for a reliable, caring and committed Support Worker to join our supported living service in Portslade.
This role is to provide maternity leave cover from August 2026 on a fixed-term contract, with the possibility of the role being extended depending on the needs of the service.
As a Support Worker, you will support adults living in a supported living environment to maintain their independence, wellbeing and quality of life. You will be expected to provide person-centred support in line with individual care plans, risk assessments and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care and support to service users within a supported living setting
- Support service users with daily living tasks, routines and community access
- Promote independence, dignity, choice and respect
- Support with personal care where required
- Support with medication in line with company policies and procedures
- Assist with appointments, shopping, activities and social inclusion
- Complete accurate daily records, care notes and incident reports
- Follow care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
- Work effectively as part of a team
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience in care, supported living, learning disabilities, mental health or complex needs
- A caring, patient and professional approach
- Good communication and written recording skills
- A reliable and flexible attitude
- The ability to work well as part of a team
- A good understanding of safeguarding, dignity and person-centred care
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends where required
Requirements:
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS check
- Two satisfactory references
- Previous care experience preferred
- Willingness to complete mandatory training
- A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
