Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck and Van Tyre Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and be comfortable working with hand tools and power tools. This role involves fitting, repairing, and maintaining tyres on a variety of vehicles, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The successful applicant will contribute to providing excellent customer service while maintaining a safe and organised workspace.
Responsibilities
- Remove and replace tyres on various types of vehicles using appropriate tools and equipment
- Inspect tyres for damage, wear, and defects, recommending repairs or replacements as necessary
- Conduct routine maintenance on tyre fitting machinery and tools to ensure proper operation
- Assist customers with tyre-related enquiries, providing professional advice and support
- Maintain a clean, organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Lift heavy tyres safely, following proper manual handling procedures to prevent injury
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in tyre fitting or automotive maintenance preferred
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and tyre levers
- Experience with power tools used in tyre fitting or vehicle maintenance advantageous
- Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and tools
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks
- Attention to detail to ensure safety standards are consistently met
