We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Supervisor who leads by example and helps deliver consistently high standards across every aspect of the business.
The Role
As Supervisor, you will support the management team in the day-to-day running of the pub, ensuring every shift is organised, efficient and enjoyable for both our guests and our team.
You will lead service from the front, motivate colleagues, maintain excellent standards and ensure every customer leaves wanting to return.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service
- Deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
- Lead by example during busy service periods.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Build relationships with regular customers and encourage repeat business.
- Promote a welcoming atmosphere throughout the pub.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and motivate the front of house team.
- Allocate daily duties and ensure they are completed to a high standard.
- Assist with training and coaching new team members.
- Monitor performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Encourage teamwork and maintain high morale.
Service Standards
- Ensure food and drinks are served accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain excellent presentation standards throughout the pub.
- Carry out opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor cleanliness across all customer and staff areas.
- Ensure tables are reset quickly and correctly.
Bar & Cellar
- Prepare and serve drinks to company standards.
- Maintain high standards of cellar management where required.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
- Minimise waste and prevent unnecessary stock loss.
Cash Handling
- Operate the till accurately.
- Cash up tills at the end of shifts when required.
- Ensure all transactions are processed correctly.
- Follow company procedures regarding cash security.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all food hygiene procedures are followed.
- Support compliance with HACCP procedures.
- Maintain excellent cleanliness throughout the building.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to.
- Report maintenance issues promptly.
Business Performance
- Help maximise food and drink sales through excellent service and product knowledge.
- Promote specials, events and seasonal offers.
- Support achievement of sales and labour targets.
- Encourage upselling without compromising guest experience.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience working within hospitality.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Positive attitude with strong leadership qualities.
- Calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexible and reliable.
- Well organised with strong attention to detail.
- Personal Licence holder (desirable but not essential).
Desirable:
- Experience in a quality food-led pub.
- Cellar management knowledge.
- Food hygiene qualification.
- First aid qualification.
