About the role
We’re looking for a forward‑thinking Group Business Resilience & Innovation Manager to strengthen how Balfour Beatty anticipates, responds to and adapts in a changing environment. In this role, you’ll embed resilience and innovation into business planning and operational decision‑making, ensuring we remain agile, prepared and future‑ready.
Working closely with senior leaders and teams across the business, you’ll help translate ideas into practical solutions, from strengthening resilience frameworks to advancing innovation initiatives. This is a key role where you’ll drive continuous improvement, enhance performance and support long‑term growth.
The location for this role is UK flexible, with a mix of office-based and home working in line with our flexible working policies.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the ongoing development and enhancement of the Business Resilience Framework to ensure it remains practical and aligned to business priorities
- Support the delivery and evolution of the Innovation Framework, embedding innovation across the organisation
- Integrate resilience thinking into transformation, innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Coordinate business continuity, incident response and crisis management planning across business units
- Plan and deliver resilience testing, exercises and assurance activities, driving meaningful improvements from insights
- Identify emerging risks, trends and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to strengthen preparedness
- Build strong relationships across functions to identify vulnerabilities and enable innovation-led improvements
- Monitor performance, maintain reporting and provide clear insights to leadership and governance forums
- Enable a culture of resilience and innovation through training, engagement and knowledge sharing
- Support the identification and deployment of innovative solutions to improve efficiency, performance and resilience
Who we're looking for
- Experience in business resilience, innovation, transformation or continuous improvement
- Strong understanding of business continuity, incident management and resilience principles
- Proven ability to develop and improve frameworks, processes or governance structures
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills
- Strong planning, organisation and project coordination capability
- Ability to identify and implement practical improvement and innovation opportunities
- Confident communicator with strong influencing and facilitation skills
- Analytical mindset with experience producing reporting and performance insights
- Experience supporting transformation or change initiatives
- Proactive, self‑motivated and driven to deliver outcomes and identify opportunities
