About the Role
Support Solutions is recruiting a compassionate and reliable Specialist Support Worker to support an individual with learning difficulties in York. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide person-centred support, helping to promote independence, wellbeing, and a positive quality of life.
Shift Pattern & Pay
- Evening Shift: 4:00pm – 9:00pm (£13.32 per hour)
- Sleep-in Shift: 9:00pm – 8:00am (£100 per sleep-in)
Applicants must be flexible to work both evening and sleep-in shifts as part of the rota.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred support tailored to individual needs.
- Assist with daily living tasks, personal care, and evening routines where required.
- Promote independence, choice, and community participation.
- Support emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour management.
- Maintain accurate records and report any concerns in line with company policies.
- Build positive, professional relationships while ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Requirements
- Male or female Support Worker.
- Breakaway training (essential).
- At least 2 years' experience working in a care setting.
- Experience supporting individuals with learning difficulties (essential).
- A calm, patient, and dependable approach.
- Flexibility to work both evening and sleep-in shifts.
