The Role
This is a varied, hands-on role supporting our joiners and builders across a wide range of domestic construction projects. No two days are the same, and the successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring projects run efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting qualified joiners and builders with day-to-day construction tasks.
- Carrying out skilled labouring duties on extensions, renovations and refurbishment projects.
- Assisting with foundations, groundworks and site preparation.
- Working alongside groundworkers during excavation and foundation works.
- Loading, unloading and delivering building materials to sites.
- Keeping sites clean, organised and safe.
- Operating hand and power tools safely.
- Assisting with structural work, roofing, flooring, stud partitions, plasterboard and general building tasks.
- Following health and safety procedures at all times.
- Representing GLS Joinery & Building Ltd professionally when working at customers' homes.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within the construction industry.
- Experience assisting with joinery or general building works.
- Experience in groundworks, foundations or extension projects.
- Ability to use common construction tools and equipment.
