This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC Laser Setter / Operator to join a busy, growing sheet metal engineering business in Rugby.
This is not a slow workshop where you stand on the same part every day and slowly become part of the furniture.
The company provides a full in house sheet metal and engineering service, with work covering laser cutting, punching, press brake, fabrication, MIG and TIG welding, robotic welding, waterjet cutting, paint spraying and finishing.
The work is varied and includes defence related projects, vehicle related manufacturing, subcontract engineering, point of sale equipment, retail display units, and other bespoke work.
There is currently more work available than the team has hours in the day to complete, so they are looking for reliable people who can come in, settle in and add value long term.

What you’ll be doing

What we need from you

- Experience on Amada machinery would be a strong advantage
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience working within sheet metal manufacturing
- Able to measure, check and work accurately
- Reliable attendance and good timekeeping
- Able to work independently once shown the job
- Comfortable working in a busy, hands on workshop
Experience with laser punching, nesting or wider sheet metal processes would be useful, but it is not essential. The main things are proper CNC Laser experience, sheet metal knowledge, reliability and the right attitude.
The good bit
This is a proper sheet metal role with varied work, stable hours, an early finish on a Friday and the chance to join a long standing business.
You will be working across different jobs, drawings and materials, so it would suit someone who likes variety rather than standing on the same job every day until their brain turns into swarf.
The company values reliability, skill and attitude. They are not looking for someone who wants a quick short term stop gap. They want someone dependable who can become part of the team.
