Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist looking to work in a highly specialised SEND environment where your expertise can transform the lives of children every day?
We are recruiting for a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join a welcoming and well-resourced SEN school in Godalming (GU7) this September.
The school caters primarily for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex learning needs, with many pupils being non-verbal and requiring highly personalised therapeutic support. You'll work alongside experienced teachers, speech and language therapists and support staff to help pupils develop communication, sensory regulation, independence and functional life skills.
The Role
As the school's Occupational Therapist, you will:
- Complete assessments and develop individual therapy programmes.
- Support pupils with sensory processing, regulation and motor development.
- Deliver both individual and small-group interventions.
- Provide sensory integration strategies within the classroom.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and families to embed therapeutic approaches throughout the school day.
- Contribute to EHCP reviews and therapy reports.
- Support pupils to develop independence, engagement and participation in learning.
We're Looking For
- HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist.
- Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Experience working with children or young people.
- Knowledge of Autism, sensory processing and complex needs.
- Experience supporting non-verbal pupils is highly desirable.
- A creative, patient and child-centred approach.
