We are seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our supportive team at The Oaks Secondary School. This is a rewarding opportunity to teach science to pupils with special educational needs across Key Stages 2-4, delivering engaging, well-differentiated lessons that meet a wide range of complex needs and enable all pupils to achieve their full potential.
The Oaks Secondary School is a large, vibrant special school for pupils aged 11-19 with a wide range of needs, including moderate learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, and Autism Spectrum Conditions. The school has been judged Outstanding by Ofsted in its last four inspections and is proud of its strong, supportive, and nurturing ethos.
The successful candidate will plan, assess and adapt learning in line with personalised targets, monitor pupil progress, and work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals to support positive outcomes. They will contribute to curriculum development, assessment and whole-school improvement.
They will create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for all pupils while upholding the schools strong commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
