We're looking for an Estates Operations Officer to join our team at BRE's Garston site, where you'll play a key part in maintaining a safe, compliant and well-managed estate.
This is an excellent opportunity to build on your facilities or estates experience, working across a diverse property environment and collaborating with contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver high standards of service and operational performance.
About the role
As Estates Operations Officer, you'll support the day-to-day management of maintenance activities, contractor operations and compliance across the Garston estate. You'll help ensure planned and reactive works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the expected quality standards.
Working closely with the Senior Operations Manager and wider Estates team, you'll coordinate suppliers, monitor contractor performance, maintain operational records and support a culture of continuous improvement. You'll also play an important role in ensuring health, safety and compliance standards are upheld across the estate.
No two days will be the same. From reviewing contractor documentation and carrying out site inspections to progressing maintenance works and supporting service delivery, you'll have the opportunity to make a visible impact on the estate's operations.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities across the estate.
Manage contractor control processes, including permits to work, site inductions and review of RAMS.
Monitor the performance of hard and soft service providers against agreed service levels, KPIs and safety standards.
Support health, safety and compliance activities, identifying and escalating risks where required.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance works, inspections, contractor visits and performance.
Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure work is completed to the required standard.
Support contract administration, purchase orders, invoice checks and value-for-money assessments.
Help develop and improve estates policies, procedures and ways of working.
Coordinate directly engaged subcontractors, including cleaning, landscaping, waste, fabric and M&E services.
Deputise for the Senior Operations Manager when required.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone with experience in estates, facilities management or building maintenance who enjoys a hands-on operational role and takes pride in delivering high standards.
You'll bring:
Experience within an Estates Operations, Facilities Management or Maintenance environment.
An understanding of building maintenance compliance and health and safety requirements.
Experience of working with contractors, suppliers or service partners.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to record keeping and administration.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with a professional and customer-focused approach.
Strong IT skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
A relevant vocational qualification such as BTEC, NVQ or equivalent in Facilities Management, Building Services or a related discipline, or a willingness to work towards one.
