We are currently recruiting for a Head of Art to join a welcoming secondary school in Haringey, N7 0JG. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Art specialist to lead the department, inspire students and drive high standards across the subject.
The Role
As Head of Art, you will provide strong leadership and direction for the Art department, ensuring students receive an engaging, creative and high-quality education.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and developing the Art department.
- Teaching Art across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Planning and delivering engaging, challenging lessons.
- Supporting and developing other members of the department.
- Monitoring student progress and ensuring high academic standards.
- Developing an ambitious and creative Art curriculum.
- Encouraging students to explore a range of artistic techniques and media.
- Supporting effective assessment and tracking of student progress.
- Contributing to wider school life and extracurricular activities.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- A qualified Art Teacher with strong classroom experience.
- Experienced in teaching Art at secondary level.
- Ideally experienced in leading a department or taking on significant leadership responsibility.
- Passionate about Art and committed to inspiring young people.
- An excellent communicator and collaborative team player.
- Organised, creative and able to lead with confidence.
- Committed to achieving excellent outcomes for students.
