Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting vehicles to ensure optimal operational efficiency. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance vehicles.
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs using appropriate tools and techniques
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs undertaken
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
- Order necessary parts and supplies for repairs and maintenance
- Collaborate with other team members to optimise operational performance
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff when required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanic or similar role, preferably within an garage
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and hand tools
- Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent are desirable but can be worked around depending on experience
- A valid driving licence is preferred but not essential
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts if required
