Senior Care Assistant / Stand-In Senior – Day Shifts
Location: Credenhill Court Rest Home
Salary: £13.75
Hours: 7:00am – 7:00pm
Working Pattern: 2–3 days per week, depending on the successful applicant
We are looking for a caring, reliable and experienced Senior Care Assistant / Stand-In Senior to join our residential care home team.
This role would suit an experienced Care Assistant who is looking to take on additional responsibility and develop their senior skills. The successful applicant will primarily work as part of the care team, providing high-quality, person-centred care to our residents.
When the Senior Care Assistant is unavailable, or when additional senior support is required, you will be expected to step up and take responsibility for the shift, supporting and guiding the care team and helping to ensure the smooth running of the home.
The Role
Your main responsibility will be providing excellent care and support to our residents, while being prepared to take on senior duties when required.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing compassionate, person-centred care to residents
- Supporting residents with their daily care needs while promoting dignity, choice and independence
- Working effectively as part of the care team
- Supporting colleagues and helping to maintain high standards of care
- Stepping up as the Senior Care Assistant when required
- Providing direction and support to the care team during senior shifts
- Delegating tasks appropriately and ensuring care duties are completed
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, residents and families
- Completing accurate care records and documentation
- Responding appropriately to residents' changing needs
- Following safeguarding, health and safety and infection-control procedures
- Helping to ensure the smooth and safe running of the home
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in a residential care setting
- A confident and capable Care Assistant
- Caring, compassionate and respectful
- Reliable and committed to providing excellent care
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Comfortable taking responsibility when required
- Confident communicating with colleagues, residents and families
- Organised and able to remain calm in a busy environment
- Keen to develop their leadership and senior care skills
- A positive role model to other members of the care team
Previous senior care experience would be an advantage, although we would also consider an experienced Care Assistant who is ready to take the next step in their career.
A relevant Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification is required.
