About Us
R & K Homecare Limited is a newly established care provider committed to delivering 24-hour residential care services for adults aged 18–55 years with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, mental health needs and other complex support needs.
Our aim is to provide a safe, person-centred, homely environment where individuals receive high-quality care, dignity, independence and support to achieve the best possible outcomes.
We are currently preparing to open our first residential care home at Dagenham, Essex. The property has received planning permission from the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, and we are now seeking an experienced Founding Registered Manager to lead our CQC registration journey and help establish an outstanding residential care service from the ground up.
Please note: This is a conditional appointment. The successful candidate will work alongside the Provider during the CQC registration process. Full employment and operational duties will commence once CQC registration has been granted and the service is ready to open.
About the Role
As the Founding Registered Manager, you will play a vital role in establishing our new residential care home and ensuring it meets all CQC regulatory requirements.
In addition to managing the registration process, we are looking for someone who has strong professional networks and established relationships within the health and social care sector, including local authorities, NHS professionals, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), commissioners, social workers and multidisciplinary teams. Experience in developing referral pathways and supporting occupancy within new services would be highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the CQC registration process.
- Develop policies, procedures, governance systems and quality assurance processes.
- Ensure compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards and all relevant legislation.
- Recruit, train and supervise care staff.
- Promote person-centred care and positive outcomes for people using the service.
- Build strong relationships with local authorities, NHS teams, commissioners and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop referral pathways and support business growth through professional networking.
- Prepare the home for CQC inspection.
- Lead safeguarding, medication management, risk assessments and continuous quality improvement.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 12 - 18 months’ previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within adult residential care.
- Thorough understanding of CQC regulations and registration requirements.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or working towards it).
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
Highly Desirable
- Experience supporting a new care service through CQC registration.
- Experience in securing referrals and developing occupancy for residential care services.
- Knowledge of services supporting adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism and mental health needs.
