Position: RETAIL ASSISTANT Part-time
The Veg patch, Ambleside
Hours: 15 to include weekends
Rate: £12.92
This is a part-time position based on a working pattern of 2 days per week, equating to approximately 390 hours per year.
Due to the seasonal nature of the role, there will be reduced operational demand during the quieter winter months. As such, there may be limited hours available during this period, and in some cases, no scheduled work. Flexibility is therefore essential, with the majority of hours expected to be worked during busier periods of the year.
There will also be opportunities to undertake additional hours by providing holiday cover, subject to business needs.
About the Job
We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Assistants to join our friendly and passionate team at The Veg Patch in Ambleside. This is the ideal opportunity for someone looking to be part of an experienced and growing team, who is passionate about people & service.
You will be expected to actively engage with all customers and visitors, offering help and advice with their purchase or enquiry,
Key responsibilities:
· Ensuring an excellent standard of customer service is provided at all times and that all customers are aided and supported with any questions and purchases
· Organising and maintaining attractive stock display, stock rotation and replenishment, as directed by the Store Supervisor.
· Processing payments, cash handling and cashing up.
· At all times to work in a safe manner, raising any health & safety concerns immediately with your line manager. Also, to be aware at all times of the health & safety of our customers and any other persons on site.
· To undertake any other tasks required from time to time which may contribute towards the successful operation of the Company.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will be friendly, welcoming and have a natural flair for merchandising. You should be able to work as part of the team or individually. Prior experience in handling cash transactions and using an EPOS till system would be preferred but training can be given.
