Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including live in and private homes. This role involves delivering personalised care that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being for clients of all ages. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives and possess relevant experience in caregiving environments. All positions are paid, including internships, and offer opportunities for professional development within the care sector.
Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Providing specialised care for individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or learning disability.
- Administering medication in accordance with prescribed protocols
- Preparing nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Supporting patients with mobility and transfer needs, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Managing behaviour and implementing behaviour management strategies to ensure safety and comfort
- Offering emotional support and companionship to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Driving clients to appointments or social activities as required
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and organised environment in line with health and safety regulations
Experience
- Prior experience in live in, nursing home, hospice, or home care environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care techniques and caregiving best practices
- Familiarity with Alzheimer's, dementia, and hospice care approaches
- Experience in medication administration and basic first aid procedures
- Skills in meal preparation tailored to specific dietary needs
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and effectively when assisting clients with mobility
- Childcare experience is advantageous for roles involving family or young clients
- Valid driving licence preferred for roles requiring client transportation
